The aim of these books is to provide a learning path from beginner to more advanced players using well known tunes and repertoire pieces to provide realistic targets for each learning stage. The CDs provided with each book contain an eclectic mix of modern styles providing lots of fun with cool backing tracks to play over. The student guitarist develops techniques established by pioneering legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page right through to our modern day icons. Techniques such as chord playing, hammer-ons and pull-offs, string bending, palm muting, barring etc are introduced in a straight-forward ‘hands on’ practical way. Tablature is explained as a guide rather than a substitute for reading music notation. about the author Andy Johnson LTCL has performed extensively in rock bands, orchestra and solo/duet concerts all over Britain. He has taught and performed in many guitar festivals and workshops and is an enthusiastic experienced teacher. His successful teaching method is applied in these books.
